A short and sweet demo for The Naughty Elf That Saved Christmas.

The Holiday Spirit has been corrupted, and possessed snowmen and tree ornaments are running amuck! But you don't care about any of that, you just want to get freaky!
But your friend insists that you bring her some presents first, so venture into the forest in search of gifts to deliver!

The game only works with keyboard controls for now.
Arrow keys to run and interact.
Z to jump.

Thank you so much for checking out this demo! It's short, but I hope you enjoy it!
If you want to see updates on this project as it progresses, I occasionally post previews on Twitter and Bluesky.

That's really strange...
I'll be back home next week, and have plans for a small update for the demo. I'll be looking into this as well!
Have you tried replaying the game? And if so, does it keep happening or was it just the one time?
Thanks!

(1 edit)

No, I haven’t replayed the game, and I don’t feel like going through it again. It’s likely the scene froze because the character died in the final scene, and it didn’t restart.

Gotcha! I think I understand what the issue is now, then!
Sorry it ruined the experience, and thanks anyway!

man, you need to re-write the player movement and camera view or something because they're absolutely shit ngl

(1 edit)

The camera is an issue that I'm aware of and will be working to fix in the next update, but the player movement? What's wrong with it?

the movement feels a little bit of slippery,  it's giving the feels like when I driving a car on a snowy road for some reason

(+1)

It shouldn't be that slippery. I'll look into it, and possibly tweak it a bit. Thanks for letting me know!

at least it's not worst than the camera tho :)

Bring the Android version

(+2)

There is no Android version planned at the moment, I'm afraid.

Cute, simple little christmas-ie game. The presentation, once again, is excellent. Although some of the level design could be tweaked a bit. Have the goomba-like enemies that you need to bounce off of respawn after a bit, especially if you need them to get higher. Some jumps were a little deceptive too; either from the screen being cut off a little or from gliding your head on the ceiling.

Great game :D

Thank you!
I'll be honest and say that some aspects of the demo were a bit rushed to get the demo out before Christmas, haha. Level design is among the things that suffered most.
I have plans to make the enemies respawn after a little while, as well as implementing a slightly more advanced camera so you can better see where you're going.

Thank you for your support!

First off, I enjoyed my time in the game. The art is great, controls are smooth, and while nothing was too challenging, it's fun!

But, two things that should be addressed:
1-When you need to bounce off the red guys to reach higher spots, if you hit them but miss the ledge, you're stuck and need to restart that screen.
2-Make the last present more obvious! I went right instead of left on that last screen, and had to redo the whole dang thing!

Thank you!
I was planning on making the enemies respawn after a little while, but I ran out of time. I'll be rolling out a little update in a few weeks to address some minor issues and quality of life stuff.
Sorry about the present, haha!
Thanks for playing

it was fucking hard, but it was worth it

Glad to hear it!
