The land of Riverule has fallen on hard times.
You, a young hero in the making, have taken on the monumental task of one day defeating the Dark Lord™ and freeing the land from his wicked influence.
This, however, is not that story.
Instead, this is the story of one of the many side-quests you embarked on while on that journey, to gain experience along the way, in more ways than one!~

Catch eggs and unlock 6 increasingly saucy splash-screens, with the final one being fully animated!

Arrow keys to run.
Spacebar or Z to dive.

Keep up making games! I thoroughly enjoy your art!!

Thank you so much!

quick question, what are the egg requirements to unlocking the gallery?

(๑•﹏•)

It's 250 eggs to unlock the final gallery piece.
It's a bit of a challenge, but I personally think it's worth it!

good news

I've beaten it!

but the other gallery thing hasn't been unlocked tho, just the disgusted and the end scene

Hey good job!

The other gallery images should get unlocked as you see them in game. Basically you'll have to "fail" at each level to get all of them. If that doesn't happen then something's wrong, in which case let me know!

Id like to see this game get a level up system or shop. more hearts, boots of speed, Chick magnet backet, maybe different farm girls to try and impress, add in more things that drop, likr a chicken that if you catch counts as 10 eggs, etc.

Edit: Just got to the 250 mark. its hard but dont give up. the reward is a nice one that feels good to work towards.

Thank you so much!
Unfortunately I have no plans to add more content to this game, but I'll be starting work on a new project soon!

If i could ask, will the game be set in the same setting? I find the idea of a Villian doing weird evil deeds around the world and a noobie hero has to do weird tasks to fix them funny and interesting. "Oh no! Someone has frozen the lake and caused all the fish to go deeper. If only we had someone who could hold their breath for a long time and go catch them." *Hero in the corner looking confused*

Not this one, no. But I definitely have more ideas for little Riverule games down the line, if time permits!
That is more or less exactly what I had in mind for Chronicles of Riverule as a potential series of games!

The game just doesn't open.
It does not give any error neither I have the wrong version (win64), it just do nothing, alr tried with admin and either way nothing happens ;(

Real sorry man, but I don't think there's anything I can do about that.

When I tried to start the game it appeared:

Windows protected the computer

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from launching. Running this application may put your computer at risk.

Application:

Chronicles of Riverule Chickenfeed Calamity win_64bit.exe

Supplier:

Unknown supplier

Yeah, unfortunately there's not a whole lot I can do about that.
It's happening because Windows can't identify who made the application, and whether or not they are a trusted source.
You should be able to launch the game anyway, or even find a way to unblock it.

Hmm, i think the game will be better off if its not erotic and nsfw

Very nice graphics, music and gameplay. I like this game :D

Thank you so much!

The game was a bit frustrating. The randomness of the fresh/spoiled egg spawns create circumstances where you can't avoid the spoiled egg or you can't catch some eggs. Then closer to the end of the game; it feels like a dice roll if you'll get good enough patterns to maybe see the final part of the gallery.

The presentation is stellar. Every bit of art and sound is fantastic. From the story intro to the game's animations/backgrounds to the gallery pieces. It almost makes up for the pain of getting all those 250 eggs. Good game!

Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

As for the randomness of the egg spawns I do agree that it can get quite mean and frustrating at times, but that's the nature of RNG.
That's not to say I didn't try to create more rules for spawning the eggs. There are some rules in place, especially for the later levels, and I did fiddle around with it quite a lot. Unfortunately the game very quickly lost a lot of it's chaotic charm, so I decided to scale back the rules and let RNGesus take the wheel, haha.

My next project will include a lot less randomness, whatever it ends up being!

games open barely bigger then a post stamp....anyone knows a solution?

Someone else ran into that problem, though I have no idea what causes it.
There's a 2x resolution option in the options menu, you should be able to reach it pretty easily. When the main menu loads in, press down once, then press enter to get to the options menu. Then just press enter again.
Hope that helps!

Edit: If you have a high DPI monitor there might be some display settings you can change to fix the issue.

Edit 2: Nevermind, found the issue!

thank you<333

the dash is absolutely useless

incredibly long windup, incredibly long cooldown upon landing, it jumps a very specific distance that isnt long enough to get stuff from the other side of the screen, but way too long to make any kind of recovery after back to the original side.

in 90% of cases if i dash im losing 2 eggs. 5% of the rest im getting the egg i dashed for, but losing the next one. and only that last 5% do i get the egg i dashed for then can recover and get the next one.

its horrible. should be much shorter, catch any egg you dash through, and not lock you in place for like 3 total seconds. short enough cooldown you can quickly dash several times to reach the opposite corner in the time it takes one egg to fall. maybe give you 3 in a row then it needs to recharge for a couple seconds to be usable again.

at the moment its smarter to just never dash, and if an egg is too far to run to you just abandon it.

Thanks for the feedback!

The dive jump was always intended as a bit of a risk/reward mechanic. I do agree that it becomes more risk than reward on the later levels, at which point it becomes significantly less useful, though in testing it did also save many runs from imminent failure.

I'll be sure to put my next project through more rigorous testing!

Hope you found something to enjoy in the game anyway!

Personally, the dash was an incredible utility in my run, you just had to get used to it, I was using it for most of the distanced eggs

is 250 needed for last gallery unlock?

Indeed it is!

ive been so close lol. I keep getting around 230 and rng just sticks it to me. Im gonna keep at it, great game!

You can do it!
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it!

very fun but it takes quite a bit of luck to get to 200 eggs because the game just puts the green balls right on top of the eggs and because they sometimes just spawn on opposite ends which is impossible to get

Thank you!
The spawn positions of the rotten eggs are randomized, just as the regular ones. Sometimes they will overlap. You may need to strategically sacrifice an egg that is covered by a rotten egg and hope that you can stay in the game long enough to heal back up!
As for spawning on opposite ends there should only be a small chance of that happening on the later levels.
Are you using the dive at all?

yea but if you have to dive from one end to the other often times it just barely makes it or is just not enough sadly. In later levels when you dive, the time it takes you to get back up is too long making it just not very worth it since by the time youve gotten back up you have already most likely lost an egg already
